Comments on the Family Reunion |
Dear Linda, How are you? I hope that you have had a chance to rest over the past few days. I want to tell you, Linda, how wonderful a time we had at the family reunion. It was absolutely incredible. My heart was so full that I almost cried tears of joy several times. I saw some family members that I had not seen in decades, met new family members that I had not yet been privileged to meet, and reunited with ones that I have been lucky enough to see over the years. I want to personally thank you for all of the hard work, enormous effort, and unlimited love you put into making this happen for all of us. I know we are not an easy bunch to deal with--it's a family trait I guess. Linda, we salute you for a job superbly done. We love you! We are blessed to be part of this family. And we thank the committee that worked with you as well. I volunteer to be on the committee for the next family reunion. I am copying all family members who are on the email correspondences sent out about the family reunion. Thanks, Lisa and Kaari Lisa Aubrey, PhD. Associate Professor African and African American Studies Political Science Arizona State University Thanks Lisa for starting out ... Linda I thanked you prior to leaving the family reunion, but your hard work and untiring efforts require more than one thank you! Hopefully a bunch of "Thank You's" will make up for the few that grumbled! Please thank your committee for us; they were the one's lifting your hands. I know a lot of work goes into coordinating and especially "collecting monies!" Hopefully you can say, it was well worth it after all. Again, thanks for bringing the family back together .... not so sure we all understand the back of the T-shirt when it gets past Pop Dew and Mom Ce-ya! But it's all good! Who's planning the next re-union? I enjoyed it immensely … even though Jo Ann had me "committed"! (smile) It is always wonderful to see the family and the generations that are following. Thanks for all your hard work. I know it was hard at times, but Linda, your efforts were worth it. It was nice seeing everyone again and I hope we can continue having reunions in the future. Thanks again. Joyce & Presley |
